If you are reading this right now, you have more luxury than someone in Iran could ever hope for right now. If you are watching TV or a video on youtube, updating your status on Facebook, Tweeting, or even texting your friend, you are lucky. If you are safe in your home, and were able to sleep last night without the sounds of screaming from the rooftops, you need to know and understand what is happening to people just like you in Iran right now.

Read on, please )

From Judy Blume to V.C. Andrews, there's always a book circulating among teens that their parents don't want them to read. What favorite book did you have to hide from your parents?

My parents never really told me not to read a certain book, they just loved that I'm such a reader & supported me with a lot of books. But there was one book I DID hide from them - it was a German book called "Feindinnen" (enemies). I was about 10 and there was a scene in the book where one of the main characters gets an orgasm just by rope climbing during PE classes (which I still find weird xD). The 10-year-old me was fascinated and shocked at the same time & I went all like: "OMG MY PARENTS CAN'T FIND OUT ABOUT THIS", so I stopped reading the book & hid it very well.
I wonder if I still have it, I kind of want to re-read it...

Writing Challenge Meme

1. Give me a writing prompt- anything you can think of! Something concrete (like rain, balloons, the first snow of winter, a color, a word), something abstract (concepts like freedom, love, or any feeling descriptive or summed up in one word), or something that doesn't really fit neatly into either category (like a quote, a lyric, or a general theme). Be as creative as you want (but please try to be clear with your suggestion, so that it's easier for me to write about it).

2. With your prompt, give me three things: the format, the point of view, and the setting. The format can be descriptive (no dialogue), dialogue (just words), or a combination of both. Any other format you can think of is great as well, but please do not request poetry, and I can't really guarantee anything about length. Point of view can be either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd person. The setting can be any one of the aspects of setting: a place, a time (whether an actual time period, or a time like midnight), or a mood.

3. Feel free to give me as many suggestions as you want (I don't mind if you give me twenty!). This is meant as an exercise to help me keep writing, and challenge me (and for fun of course!). I'll try to write something for every prompt you give, even if it's only a paragraph.

4. Post this to your own journal if you'd like to do this as well. Have fun! :)

(P.S. Yeah, I know I said a real life entry was following sometime soon...well, be patient for just a little bit longer ^^)

I've made a little friends cut. There are several reasons but mainly because you haven't updated for a very long time or we just weren't interested in each other & I often skipped your entries while checking my f'list. The people cut are:

This one is public because I'm posting icons =)
I just began watching Dr.Who and it's so great. Especially the scene in 1x02 where that "last human" comes in and shows them a jukebox which she calls an iPod xD And that's why I made those icons:

the same in 9 more colours )

I did a little friends' cut but it isn't really important because you either were inactive or closed. But some are just cut. Good bye, my friends :)
